Since 2021, Berner Kantonalbank (BEKB) has been providing its customers with e-safes and digital mailboxes based on DSwiss technologies.
Online banking is now commonly used by all age brackets. As a universal bank, BEKB appeals to all kinds of customers, from children to senior citizens, and from the computer "unsavvy" to digital natives. When it comes to online banking, the expectations of customers are shaped by experience with the digital offers of tech giants such as Google and Facebook, or the intuitive operation of Apple products. Customers want simple e-banking, without all the bells and whistles. They expect bank documents such as account statements or tax records to be accessible in electronic form, and actions that used to require a trip to the bank counter to be completed digitally. With the increasing digitization of business processes, a secure storage location for crucial data such as digital documents and passwords becomes all the more important.
"One of the biggest challenges involves achieving a balance between simplicity and security. New solutions must meet strict security requirements, all the while remaining as user-friendly and intuitive as possible," explains Leila Moser, Business Development Specialist at BEKB. "DSwiss meets these security requirements, and is continually developing new products that are in line with the needs of BEKB." BEKB therefore hired DSwiss to develop a solution with an e-safe and a digital mailbox.
DSwiss developed the e-safe and digital mailbox as modules for BEKB, which were integrated into the existing BEKB customer portal. These modules are accessed via the web browser of the customer portal.
