Management Team
Lukas von Känel - Head of Finance and Strategy
Lukas von Känel is a pioneer in the field of IT
security and the internet. He is currently CEO of AVANTEC AG, which he
co-founded in 1995 and is now the leading IT security integrator in
Switzerland. In addition, Lukas is co-founder of Sysformance AG (now a Gomez
Company), as well as being a co-founder of DSwiss AG. His earlier career included positions at AT&T Bell Labs and Tibco Inc.,
leading innovators in UNIX and TCP/IP networking applications. Lukas holds a
degree in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology
in Zurich (ETH).
Andreas Jacob - Head of Customer Business and Partner Relationships
Andreas Jacob is an Internet pioneer following the launch of his first commercial Internet project in the early 1990s. He has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years and has a proven track record in bringing new products and services to the market. Andreas is a co-founder and managing partner of AVANTEC AG, which has risen to become the leading IT security integrator in Switzerland. He is also a co-founder of Sysformance AG, an Internet performance monitoring company, and a co-founder of DSwiss AG. Andreas Jacob holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH).
Tobias Christen - Head of Technology and Operations (CTO)
Tobias Christen has over 20 years’ experience in software and IT product development. In early 2008 Tobias joined DSwiss as CTO from Zurich Financial Services where he had worked for several years to build up a new security architecture and develop their IT risk strategy. He began his career at UBS in a research team specialising in new Internet technologies before leaving to join a leading international security-software company - Stonesoft - where he held the positions of Head of Research and Development, Head of Product Management, and CTO. Tobias has a PhD degree in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, and is co-founder of the “OpenSecurityArchitecture.org” online community.
Christian Schwarzer - Head of Business Development
Christian Schwarzer has over five years experience in developing and implementing business strategies for large corporations as well as small start-up companies. In 2009 he joined DSwiss as Head of Business Development from the leading Swiss-based consultancy AWK Group where he lead numerous strategy and innovation projects in the IT and telecommunications sector. His career includes positions with the technology company, Intel, as well as Ericsson, the world’s largest telecommunications supplier. Christian Schwarzer holds a Master of Science in Communication Systems Engineering and a Master of Advanced Studies in Management, Technology and Economics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Lausanne and Zurich respectively.
